International Seminar
Programs and PapersAs part of its efforts to spread the name "East Sea" internationally, the Society for East Sea holds an annual International Seminar on Sea Names, inviting domestic and foreign experts. The seminar, which began in 1995, the year after the establishment of the research group, was held every year to the 27th seminar in 2021.
So far, 392 presentation papers have been published, and 800 participants are based on the number of participants. The seminar, attended by researchers, experts from international organizations, cartographers, nominating organization members, and journalists from each country, has established itself as a specialized forum for discussing sea names and dispute names.
Since 2013, at the end of each year, the contents presented and discussed at the seminar of that year have been collected and published as a book. Since 2007, the Northeast Asian History Foundation will participate as a co-organizer.
